Today’s recipe is one my wife decided to make yesterday called ‘Peach Hand Pies’ posted by Aimee at ‘Shugary Sweets’ dot com. This recipe’s a hit in our home ~ reminding me of pastry turnovers ~ and variations could be made using different pie fillings each time if one wanted to: peach, apple, cherry, etc.
After brushing the Hand Pies in the frothy egg white mixture, my wife added a step by sprinkling them with sugar before baking to add extra sweetness to the refrigerated pastry dough. Instead of dipping them into the glaze after baking, she instead drizzled the powdered sugar icing across them and sprinkled the Hand Pies with sliced, toasted almonds. These little pastries are a real treat ~ enjoy! ☼ 🙂
