I painted a second 480th TFS ‘Great Warhawk Nation’ squadron patch at RAF Sculthorpe while we were deployed there in the spring of 1985, this time on the wall of the cantina.  My painting technique has always been freehand – using a pencil, string and a yardstick to first outline the features of the patch, and then fill them in using acrylics. Here’s a couple of photos of my finished painting:
