I painted a number of contemporary acrylic line paintings in 1979 when I lived in Seattle, and again in 1980-1981 when I returned to Michigan State University. I painted a traditional MSU Spartan flag with a white ‘block S’ on a green background for myself, and a traditional UofM maize ‘block M’ on a field of blue for my brother as a gift. I also painted a number of smaller line drawings that I gave away as gifts at the time. I only have two canvasses today that reflect the style of my artwork from those days, and today’s piece is what I call ‘Sailing’ (18″ x 36″) from 1979 when I lived in Seattle:
